FRIDAY, AUGUST 12 - VOCAL WORKSHOP

5:30 - 7:00 PM at Red Brick

Are you thinking about auditioning for Mary Poppins, but don't know where to start? Acclaimed music director David Dyer will lead an audition workshop geared for the vocal aspects of auditioning. He will cover appropriate song selection, formatting your sheet music with correct markings, tempos, cuts, etc. to set you up for success with an accompanist you may not know, while making sure the key and song shows off your best vocal assets. Ages 10 and up.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13 - ACTING WORKSHOP

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Red Brick

In this workshop, led by the director of Mary Poppins, Graham Northrup, participants will learn how to master the "cold reading" audition by learning techniques that will help channel nervous energy into bold character choices, quickly identify character motivation, and strengthen your focus on the scene and supporting your scene partner. Ages 10 and up.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13 - TAP WORKSHOP

2:00 - 4:00 PM at Red Brick

Since the chimney sweeps in our Mary Poppins production will be tapping, our choreographer Ricki Smith Newman will be giving a beginning tap workshop for those who have never had the opportunity to learn. Some ballet and other types of character dancing are being planned, too! Some tap shoes will be available to borrow. Ages 10 and up.
